Fast-Rising Top-100 Prospect Talks Clemson, Recruitment

This top-100 national prospect on Clemson’s radar has seen his recruiting stock soar since the calendar turned to 2024.

Gainesville (Ga.) High School’s Xavier Griffin (pictured above, middle) – a four-star defensive end/outside linebacker in the 2026 class – has reeled in more than a dozen major offers already this year, including offers from programs such as Georgia, Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Ohio State, Southern Cal, Notre Dame and Wisconsin, to name some.

The Clemson Insider recently caught up with the fast-rising recruit, who took trips this spring to schools like Ohio State, Tennessee, Alabama and UGA – along with Clemson.

“My recruitment has taken off this spring, really enjoying the process,” Griffin said. “I have just finished up all my visits until this summer.”

Griffin visited Clemson for its March 9 junior day, and he would be happy to have the Tigers pay him a visit at his school this spring.

“Hoping they will come by during spring practice that’s coming up,” Griffin said.

The 6-foot-4, 210-pound rising junior plans on returning to Tiger Town and putting his talent on display at the Dabo Swinney Football Camp in June.

“I will be attending camp this summer, so I’m excited about getting back up there and competing in front of them!” he said.

Griffin has also made multiple gameday visits to Death Valley in the past.

What stands out the most to him when he reflects on his previous experiences at Clemson?

“For me the biggest thing that stood out was the P.A.W. Journey (program) because we all know football will end one day,” he said, “but what will you do in college to prepare for life after?”

Griffin, who owns around two dozen total offers, spoke about what adding an offer from Clemson would mean for him and his recruitment. The Tigers will begin dispensing offers to the 2026 class this summer.

“I have several schools that stick out but enjoying hearing from all of them,” Griffin said. “Getting an offer from (Clemson) will help to continue to evaluate my recruiting and open more big-time schools to look at me.”

Griffin is ranked as a top-100 national prospect in the 2026 class by multiple services. Rivals considers him the No. 4 weakside defensive end and No. 95 overall prospect nationally.
