A top Clemson offensive line target in the 2025 class, and legacy recruit, announced his top schools via social media Friday.

Mal Waldrep of Central High School (Phenix City, Ala.) named Clemson among his top four schools. Along with the Tigers, his top four features Alabama, Florida and Tennessee.

Waldrep is a four-star prospect per Rivals, which considers him the No. 15 prospect in the state of Alabama and No. 31 offensive tackle nationally in the 2025 class.

Waldrep has a family tie to Clemson, as his grandfather, Joe Waldrep, was a linebacker under legendary Clemson coach Frank Howard in the 1960s.

Clemson extended an offer to Waldrep last June when he participated in the Dabo Swinney Camp.

The 6-foot-5, 300-pound rising senior has traveled to Tiger Town multiple times, including for the Tigers’ elite junior day in late January. He is slated to officially visit Clemson during the program’s May 31-June 2 official visit weekend.

“It was amazing, everything stood out to me, Clemson sells itself,” Waldrep told The Clemson Insider following the elite junior day visit. “When we were out on the field and Coach Swinney came up to me and asked me if I could see myself here, I said absolutely yes.”
