Two of Clemson’s best defenders in recent memory have reunited in the NFL. The Baltimore Ravens took notice, and have selected former Tigers in back-to-back drafts.
When cornerback Nate Wiggins made his 30 visit to Baltimore, he spoke with linebacker Trenton Simpson. The two played together at Clemson and will now do the same at the next level.
Simpson was selected No. 86 overall by the Ravens last season while Baltimore took Wiggins No. 30 overall Thursday night. Following the selection, Wiggins talked about the duo’s return.

“We just talked when I was on the visit,” Wiggins said. “I feel like he’s going to be a big role in my part when I get there. He’s a worker, he knows how to carry himself.”
Following the Ravens’ 13-4 season, Wiggins and Simpson are expected to take big roles on the defense. Simpson will be taking over the starting duties of linebacker Patrick Queen after his departure.
Flanking him will be Wiggins, who is poised for the starting outside corner spot across from Marlon Humphrey. Those two will have a big part in Baltimore’s defense and Clemson paw prints will be all over it.
Who’s the first one to welcome @WigginNathaniel to Baltimore?
Trenton Simpson.
