2026 QB Calls Clemson ‘Dream School,’ Set to Visit in June

Anthony Coellner is seeing his recruitment really take off of late, with Clemson being one of the schools to start showing interest over the past few weeks.

The 2026 QB (Carmel, In) started hearing from the Tigers just over a month ago and he now plans to work out at Dabo Swinney’s high school camp on June 4.

“My communication with Clemson started about a month ago,” Coellner told The Clemson Insider. “They followed me on twitter and ended up reaching out saying that they loved my film and hoped that I could get out to a camp soon.”

Indiana, Cincinnati, West Virginia, Maryland, Illinois, Virginia Tech and Michigan State are some of the schools Coellner is hearing from the most. Cincinnati, Maryland and Indiana have already offered. Although, one of those opening offers from Clemson this summer is something the 6-foot-2 signal caller is also eyeing.

“Something that stands out is how great of a job coach Swinney has done in building the program and continuing the great legacy at Clemson,” Coellner said. “Clemson has always been a dream school of mine and it would mean a ton to get an offer to play there especially with them being super selective in recruiting quarterbacks.”

As a sophomore, Coellner completed 56 percent of his passes for 937 yards and eight touchdowns. He had another 298 on the ground, with two more touchdowns.

Some of the spring visits the young quarterback took included Indiana, West Virginia, Michigan State, Southern Cal, UCLA and Michigan, but being so early in the process, Coellner has yet to firm up any kind of timeline when it comes to making a decision. He wants to get through his junior season first.

However, he does already know some of the qualities he is looking for in a school, and Clemson would seem to fit that bill.

“Can coaches not only develop you as a player, but also as a person,” Coellner said. “We love the P.A.W. Journey leadership initiative and what it does for the student-athletes. Another thing that comes to mind when it comes to looking for something in a school, that my whole family is really big on, is their academics. My parents continue to push me and my siblings to excel in school because it will only help you later on in life.”
