Nate Wiggins made it where there was no discussion over who was the fastest Clemson player for a while. With the All-ACC defensive back now a Baltimore Raven, it’s sparked a new debate.
On the latest 2 Right Turns podcast, cornerbacks Avieon Terrell and Shelton Lewis got into a debate about who is the fastest. The former had receipts.
“You know you’re not faster than me,” Terrell laughed as Khalil Barnes enjoyed from the side. “I had the fastest miles per hour between me and him the whole season.”
After that statement, Lewis placed a challenge to put the two side by side. He believes that he would beat Terrell in a race, so the two might have to line up and find out.
“I’m top three and I’m not three,” Lewis said.
Barnes wouldn’t go the whole time out of the conversation. While he’s more of a physical player, he said “I’m still sliding” and won’t stand for anyone doubting his speed.
While in debates among themselves, another battle that came up was the on-field swagger. Look good, play good is a real thing and Lewis said Wiggins was a “try hard” when it came to his look.
It’s clear that Clemson’s defensive back room is competitive in all aspects, so it’s no wonder why the young trio has made an impact early. There might be a callback to the speed discussion at some point, but the on-field appearance battle never ends.
