Tiger Draft Pick Projected as Week 1 Starter

There’s a reason that the Atlanta Falcons traded up to pick Ruke Orhorhoro.

Taking the former Clemson Tiger at No. 36 overall came with some criticism from multiple outlets. It was seen as a reach of a pick, but producing early will silence that doubt.

Falcons Wire released its Week 1 projections for the defense, and Orhorhoro was listed a starter on the defensive line. It wasn’t at defensive tackle though, and instead as defensive end.

That’s a bit misleading as the Falcons play a 3-4 defense. He would likely line up over the B gap and his raw talent and versatility allows him to do that.

This slot would place Orhorhoro across from fellow Clemson standout Grady Jarrett. He noted after being drafted that he’s watched a ton of his film, so Orhorhoro is very familiar with what this role would entail.

Training camp will provide a deeper look at where Orhorhoro will end up, but there’s zero doubt he’ll be a mainstay on the Atlanta front early on.
