Who does Deshaun Watson see as the five best Clemson football athletes/talents ever on the offensive side of the ball?
During the latest episode of QB Unplugged co-hosted by Watson, the former Tiger quarterback great and current Cleveland Brown built his Clemson all-time skills player team.
Watson began with the running back position and said his starting lineup would feature Travis Etienne at that spot – a slight edge over C.J. Spiller.
“That’s tough. It’s very close,” Watson said.
“The way he runs, it’s very rare to get him tackled behind the line of scrimmage,” Watson added of Etienne, now of course a member of the Jacksonville Jaguars. “When I watched him, he falls forward for 4 yards every single time. Watch him this year, watch him when you watch Jacksonville – he totes the rock, and he can catch the football, too, and he’s got some speed. So, I’m gonna go Etienne. I love C.J., though.”
The rest of Watson’s group, he said, would be Dwayne Allen at tight end, with the receivers being Sammy Watkins, DeAndre Hopkins and Mike Williams – and Artavis Scott as the alternate.
“My tight end, I’m probably going Dwayne Allen. Sammy Watkins. And I’m going receivers off the top of my head – Nuk Hopkins and Mike Williams,” Watson said. “And then if I had to sub somebody, it would be Artavis Scott for sure.”
