An explosive receiver from the Peach State is feeling plenty of interest from Clemson.
In fact, Carrollton (Ga.) High School class of 2026 wideout Peyton Zachary says Clemson is one of the schools showing him the most love at this point in his recruiting process.
“Recruiting is going well,” Zachary told The Clemson Insider. “I am feeling the most love from Louisville and Clemson, but other schools are reaching out for me to come on visits and camps this summer.”
Clemson recently stopped by Carrollton to see Zachary’s first spring practice.
A rising junior with more than two dozen offers, Zachary visited Death Valley for the Florida State game this past September, and he plans on returning to Tiger Town this summer.
“Clemson is looking forward to seeing me this summer,” he said, “and I’m very interested in being there and gaining a relationship with the staff.”
This summer is when the Tigers will start offering 2026 recruits, and Zachary said “it would mean a lot” to receive an offer from Clemson.
“The program is something I would like to be a part of,” he added. “Many players have come out of Clemson and developed as a player. Also, they are a winning program.”
Zachary’s offer list currently features schools such as Georgia, Indiana, Louisville, Maryland, Missouri, Ole Miss, Pittsburgh, Purdue and Tennessee.
What will the speedy 5-foot-7, 160-pound pass catcher bring to the table for the program that ultimately lands his commitment in the future?
“I would describe myself as a smart and explosive receiver that can go deep and catch things and take it far,” he said. “A school would be getting a dog if I was committing to them.”
Zachary transferred to Carrollton this offseason from Kell (Marietta, Ga.), where he tallied 43 catches for 740 yards and 10 touchdowns as a sophomore in 2023, per MaxPreps.
