Clemson’s Super Regional matchup is now locked in.
The sixth-seeded Tigers (44-14) will take on Florida (32-28) after the Gators beat No. 11 seed Oklahoma State, 4-2, on Monday to win the Stillwater Regional.
Of course, that means a return to Tiger Town for Florida head coach Kevin O’Sullivan, who was an assistant coach at Clemson under Jack Leggett from 1999-2007.
Clemson head coach Erik Bakich was a fellow assistant with O’Sullivan at Clemson in 2002, and now the two will face off in the Clemson Super Regional at Doug Kingsmore Stadium. The best-of-three series begins this weekend, with game dates and times to be announced by the NCAA.
Bakich’s Tigers went 3-0 in the Clemson Regional en route to their first regional title since 2010 and hope to earn Clemson’s first College World Series berth since 2010.
O’Sullivan’s Gators are going for back-to-back College World Series appearances after finishing 2023 as the CWS runner-up.
