While not all of the players that worked out this morning, returned for the afternoon session, many did.
Spent the first part of the afternoon session watching the offensive linemen. First-year assistant Matt Luke could be heard telling the players to slow down. That the goal was to get quality reps and to learn, not just focusing on racking up as many reps as you could.
One of the first offensive linemen to stick out this afternoon was 2026 prospect Chancellor Barclay. At 6-foot-4 and already pushing 300 pounds, he stands out. Barclay has offers from Florida, Miami, Georgia Tech and Penn State among others, and he was easily the best player at the position I watched this afternoon.
Looked for 2026 in-state offensive linemen Zyon Guiles (Carvers Bay) and Desmond Green (Timberland), but either they had already left before the afternoon session, or I just missed them. Was told they were both on hand during the morning session.
2026 QB Brock Bradley (Spain Park, Birmingham, Al) threw this afternoon. He throws a nice ball, with a smooth release. Has offers from Texas A&M, West Virginia and Wake Forest.
2027 in-state LB Bubba Alexander (Hammonds) worked out this afternoon. Started working out at camp when he was 11. His mother said Wes Goodwin coached him that first year back when he was still and analyst and he used to send Goodwin and Dabo Swinney letters most years. One year, Swinney took the time to write one back to him personally.
Summer enrollee TJ Moore was one of the players helping coach the camp. He looks as advertised and like he could physically step on the field right now. Sammy Brown was another player helping coach. He was wearing a sleeve on his left leg, but was moving around fine.
In-state WRs and high school teammates (Ridge View), Jordon Gidron and Darius Carter (2027), were back for the afternoon session. Gidron is just so smooth in everything he does. One source said if Carter hits a growth spurt before his junior season, he could be the top receiver in the state in the 2027 cycle.
One more note from the morning session, one person told me that 2025 WR Dillon Alfred, the Ole Miss commit, killed it during the one-on-ones and that an offer from Clemson would have him rethinking things.
