CLEMSON- Zyon Guiles has long coveted an offer from Clemson. He grew up rooting for the Tigers.
Now the 2026 in-state offensive lineman (Carvers Bay) is currently seeing his stock rise rapidly after some extremely impressive camp performances, including one at Dabo Swinney’s high school camp on Wednesday.
After knocking it out of the park with his workout at Clemson, Guiles would leave town with an offer in hand.
“It means a lot, man,” Guiles told The Clemson Insider. “I’ve been working so hard for this. Couldn’t even imagine. It’s all happening pretty fast. I’m just glad to see that all my work is paying off and going to a good cause.”
While Guiles knew he was on the Tigers’ radar, he wasn’t sure whether or not he would earn an offer this early in the process. He visited back in March and then Matt Luke visited his school during the evaluation period.
Despite all that, Guiles thought that if an offer were to come, it might be a little later on, after the coaches had seen more. However, that isn’t how it played out, as the 3-star prospect became one the handful of offensive linemen to come away with an offer in the first week of June.
“It was a thought, but I wasn’t guaranteed,” he said “Because Clemson doesn’t offer many people. I have confidence in myself, but I didn’t think I was going to be one of the people that they selected right now at least. Maybe later on, but not now. So that really caught me off guard a little bit.”
After working out in the morning and afternoon session, Guiles and his father were taken into Swinney’s office, where the offer was revealed.
“After they seen me perform, they took me and a couple more offensive linemen out to eat,” Guiles said. “They let the other offensive linemen leave, and they gave me and my dad a couple minutes to sit down a little bit and relax, then they called us into Dabo’s office.”
Over the past few weeks, 6-foot-5, 292-pound prospect has earned offers from NC State, Wake Forest and Virginia Tech. After Guiles announced the Clemson offer, South Carolina quickly responded with an offer, as did South Florida.
While Guiles is ecstatic that his hard work is paying off with all of the attention he is starting to garner, including being ranked a 3-star by Rivals on the day he announced his offer from the Tigers, he is determined to remain humble throughout the process. No matter which schools might offer in the future and no matter where he ends up.
“It’s not easy,” Guiles said. “Especially being from the Pee Dee area. Not many people have this amount of attention on their name, especially at a young age. I’m really trying to get used to it. My parents, they media-trained me up since I was little, just in case anything happened. But I’m just really trying to get used to it. I mean, I love it. I thank God so much for this opportunity.”
