Clemson has pulled the trigger on an offer to a top defensive back prospect from Tennessee.
McCallie School (Chattanooga, Tenn.) four-star cornerback Chaston Smith announced the offer from the Tigers via social media on Sunday.
The 6-foot-2, 170-pound rising junior is ranked as a top-100 national prospect in the 2026 class by Rivals, which pegs him as the No. 8 corner and No. 100 overall prospect in the country for his class.
Smith’s stock has been rising rapidly of late, as he also received offers this spring from Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Oregon, South Carolina, Texas A&M, Notre Dame and Southern Cal, among other schools.
