Former Clemson Coach Staying at South Carolina

South Carolina has their next head baseball coach.

Former Clemson head coach Monte Lee hoped to be the next head coach for the Gamecocks, but former LSU head coach Paul Mainieri will get the job.  However, Lee will be remaining with South Carolina, according to D1 Baseball’s Kendall Rogers.

After being replaced by Erik Bakich as Clemson’s head coach following the 2022 season, Lee was named South Carolina’s associate head coach/recruiting coordinator on Aug. 18, 2022.

Lee spent seven seasons at Clemson (2016-22) during which he compiled a 242-136 overall record and led the Tigers to four NCAA Tournament berths and the 2016 ACC Tournament title.
