After picking up one of Clemson’s opening offers at the beginning of June, 2026 offensive lineman Grant Wise would get to campus about a week later to work out at Dabo Swinney’s high school camp.

The 4-star talent, out of Pace (Milton, Fl), said he has been following Clemson for most of his high school career, and getting an offer from a program as selective as Dabo Swinney’s stands out.

“It’s a huge deal to me,” Wise told The Clemson Insider. “I’ve watched Clemson for a couple years. I really like the place, and I really like Dabo Swinney. I think it’s a really cool opportunity.”

Wise then worked out at camp on June 8, saying he wanted to be coached up by offensive line coach Matt Luke and get a better feel for his coaching style.

Before his visit for camp, his last trip to Clemson came back in March for the Elite Junior Day, and that was when Wise was able to meet Luke in person for the very first time.

“That visit was great,” he said. “They told us a lot about the program. And they explained to us their how they teach their players on and off the field, and how they have involved them in the community and teach them life skills, and not only football skills. Also got to meet coach Luke for the first time. It was awesome. I look forward to build my relationship with him.”

Wise already has 30 offers, with Clemson, Tennessee, Alabama, Miami, Ohio State and Michigan being some of the schools he named as currently recruiting him the hardest.

While he is still fairly early in the process, he has yet to firm up any timeline for making a decision, but the blue-chip talent was pretty clear in what it is he is looking for in a school. And Clemson would seem to fit the criteria.

“Obviously, a great coach,” Wise said. “Because recruiting and all this is just selecting the teacher I want to get me where I want to be. Then the environment at the program, the culture and how they treat their players.”
