CLEMSON — Clemson University plans to appeal Wednesday’s ruling in the ACC vs. Clemson lawsuit to the North Carolina Supreme Court.
This news comes from a notice of appeal filed in a Charlotte court on Thursday morning, as reported by the State’s Chapel Fowler. On Wednesday, a North Carolina judge denied Clemson’s motion to dismiss and stay the countersuit.

According to Fowler, Clemson’s appeal triggers the ACC’s countersuit to be paused pending the decision of the appeal.
Florida State appealed a similar ruling to the North Carolina Supreme Court in the ACC vs. FSU lawsuit earlier this year after a similar ruling in the North Carolina courts.
