Clemson Signee Inks Professional Contract

A Clemson signee has inked his professional contract with this Major League Baseball team.

Infielder Chase Harlan signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday.

The Central Bucks East (Pa.) product went to Los Angeles in the third round of this year’s MLB Draft (No. 98 overall pick).

According to MLB.com’s Jim Callis, Harlan signed for $1,747,500, well over the slot value for the 98th overall pick ($745,000).

Harlan recently posted the longest home run (453.4 feet) and second-highest exit velocity (112.4 mph) of any prospect at the MLB Draft Combine.

The 6-foot-3, 205-pound 18-year-old ranked No. 112 on the MLB Draft Prospects list.
