A rough season for Florida State and former Clemson quarterback DJ Uiagalelei continued on Saturday night.
Uiagalelei was benched in FSU’s game at SMU, with the Seminoles down big in the fourth quarter.
Highly regarded redshirt freshman quarterback Brock Glenn replaced Uiagalelei early in the final period, after Uiagalelei threw an interception that was returned 82 yards for a touchdown that gave SMU a 42-16 lead.
Uiagalelei was 12-of-30 passing for 222 yards and two touchdowns with three interceptions. He injured his pinky in the second quarter, though he kept playing until he was replaced by Glenn in the fourth quarter.
Clemson travels to Tallahassee next Saturday to take on a struggling Seminoles team that fell to 1-4 this season after the loss to SMU.
