One of Clemson’s top offensive line targets was on campus last Saturday night for the Tigers’ 40-14 victory over Stanford.

4-star Grant Wise (Pace, FL), one of the top interior linemen in the 2026 class, made his return to campus last weekend, his second time seeing Clemson this season. Wise was also a recruiting guest of the Tigers for the season-opening loss to Georgia in Atlanta.

Wise’s visit coincided with much of the Upstate still reeling from the effects of Hurricane Helene. The way the crowd showed up to support the Tigers, despite the havoc the storm wreaked on the area, left a lasting impression.

“I thought it was really cool that everybody still came out to the game after getting hit so hard by the hurricane,” Wise told The Clemson Insider. “I thought that was really cool, showing their loyalty. It was electric and I think that’s also really cool. It was an amazing game. And obviously, they beat the crap out of Stanford.”

Now that Wise has seen the Tigers play in person on two separate occasions, he believes he’s seen a marked improvement in the play of the offensive line under the tutelage of Matt Luke,

“I think that they look a lot better this year,” Wise said. “I could tell they’ve really bought into what he teaches, and I can tell they’ve bought into him. I can tell they play really hard for him and I think that’s important.”

Wise has been taking visits almost every weekend since the season started, trying to get to most of the schools he is currently most interested in. Outside of seeing Clemson, the blue-chip recruit has also visited Oklahoma, Florida State and Georgia Tech. He still plans to get to Alabama and Tennessee and is also hoping to get to Ole Miss, Miami and Oregon.

Wise was also on campus back in the summer. Shortly after picking up one of Clemson’s opening offers he visited to work out at Dabo Swinney’s high school camp. Now that he’s spent some time experiencing the culture, the highly-touted prospect sees what’s different about the program.

“The level they care for their players outside of football is huge,” Wise added. “They prepare them for not just the next level of football, which they do that really well, but they also prepare them for life after football. I think that’s important. I really like that. And I just like the culture of the program and how all the coaches coach together, and all the players play together. They’re all one team and I think that’s huge.”

Rivals ranks Wise No. 134 overall and No. 2 among all interior linemen. The 6-foot-3, 300-pound recruit is aiming to release a list of top schools after the end of his high school season. When asked if the Tigers would be on it, Wise wasted no time in giving a clear response.

“Definitely.”
