Could Clemson host a playoff game on campus later this year?

With the new 12-team format, the first round of the College Football Playoff will be hosted by on campus with seeds 5-8 getting a home game.

ESPN analyst Mark Schlabach is projecting the Tigers to be the 8-seed in his latest projections, pitting them against No. 9 seed Alabama in a matchup that would be played in Death Valley.

Schlabach then projects Clemson to knock off the Crimson Tide and move on to face Texas in the quarterfinal at the Peach Bowl, a game he predicts the Longhorns will win.

CBS Sports is predicting the Tigers as the No. 10 seed, with Clemson traveling to Athens for a rematch with No. 7 seed Georgia.
