Swinney updates Injury to Freshman Receiver

CLEMSON — Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney gave an update to an injured freshman receiver following No. 10 Clemson’s 48-31 victory over Virginia Saturday at Memorial Stadium.

Bryant Wesco did not play for the second week in a row. The wide receiver was banged up in the Tigers’ win over Florida State on Oct. 5, as TCI saw him limping back to the team bus after the game.

Clemson held him out of last week’s win over Wake Forest and then Saturday’s victory over the Cavaliers.

“We are hopeful after the open date he is ready to go,” Swinney said. “He has done everything he needs to do, so we will learn more next Monday after he gets a full week.”

Wesco played in the first five games this season before missing the last two. He has 11 catches for 262 yards and two touchdowns this season. He is averaging 23.8 yards per catch.
