One talented young prospect for Clemson fans to keep tabs on moving forward is Preston Glasco.
The class of 2027 defensive back from Grayson High School (Loganville, Ga.) recently traveled to Tiger Town for the first time.
Glasco made an unofficial visit to Death Valley for Clemson’s 59-35 victory over NC State on Sept. 21.
“I really enjoyed my visit at Clemson,” Glasco told The Clemson Insider. “The atmosphere was energetic and filled with amazing people. Plus, it’s very exciting any time you see a full crowd.
“I’d say my highlight was being in the locker room for Coach Swinney’s postgame speech. Also catching up with Grayson alum Phil Mafah was pretty cool. I look up to him as a role model, how he carries himself, and I let him know I was proud of him and he let me know the same.”
Those weren’t the only things about the visit that stuck out to the 6-foot-1, 170-pound sophomore, who is highly interested in the Tigers and hoping for an offer from Dabo Swinney’s program down the road.
“Something that stood out about Clemson was the family culture that they revolve around,” Glasco said. “Another thing was P.A.W. Journey, which focuses on developing athletes into better young men.
“Getting an offer from them would mean a lot as they are a school that I have a lot of interest in.”
During the visit, Glasco had the chance to spend some time with Jody Evans, who is currently in his third full season at Clemson and his second as a special teams analyst.
Where do things stand with Glasco and the Tigers at this early stage of his recruiting process?
“I was able to have a conversation with Coach Jody Evans, who shined some light on the Clemson recruiting process,” Glasco said. “I can appreciate that Clemson doesn’t just throw out non-committable offers, and that they don’t really offer a lot of kids before their junior year.”
“I’m just hoping to get on the radar at this point,” Glasco added. “Injury has me out the rest of the year so I’m focusing on my faith, time in the classroom, and time in the weightroom. I’m growing physically and mentally and hope to eventually set myself apart come time when schools are looking at their board for 2027 DBs.”
After enjoying his first Clemson gameday experience in the sun, Glasco is eager to get back on campus for another game at Death Valley – next time, under the lights.
“Most people I spoke to said night games were electric,” he said, “so I’d love to get back for a night game in the near future.”
