Where Clemson’s 2025 Class Ranks in Updated Recruiting Rankings

Clemson’s 2025 recruiting class is expected to be a small one.

The Tigers currently have just 13 players committed in the class, having seen three players decommit since the summer. The latest came early last week, when 4-star QB Blake Hebert flipped to Notre Dame.

In its updated rankings, ESPN has Clemson at No. 23 overall, with six players in the ESPN300.

“The Tigers have already checked several boxes in 2025 with big commitments at multiple positions. Gideon Davidson and in-state prospect Marquise Henderson are a pair of key running back pledges. Davidson, a top-five running back, runs with a nice blend of size, speed and power. He posted impressive numbers as a junior, rushing for 2,700 yards and 43 touchdowns. Henderson is more slightly built at roughly 5-10, 170 pounds, but has explosive, big-play speed. He rushed for more than 2,300 yards as a junior.”

“Clemson landed several defensive linemen ranked in the ESPN 300. Ari Watford is a lengthy player with good initial quickness who can develop into a disruptive edge rusher. In the trenches, Clemson landed defensive tackle Amare Adams, the top-ranked player in South Carolina. One-time Georgia commit Tae Harris is a nice addition to the secondary. He projects to safety, but he’s versatile enough to play corner. He posted some of the top numbers on the spring camp circuit, including a blazing 4.38 40-yard dash.”

While the class is a little short on quantity, it isn’t lacking in quality.

While the 247Sports Composite has Clemson at No. 19 overall, the Tigers are No. 8 in average rating per commit.

On3 ranks the class No. 15 overall and No. 7 in average rating per commit.

Rivals isn’t as high on the class, ranking it at No. 31 overall and No. 15 in average rating per commit.

The class could be about to grow by one, as 4-star S Jordan Young is set to announce on November 2. NC State and Clemson have been seen as the top contenders over recent months, but Young is slated to visit Michigan this weekend, his final one ahead of the announcement.

Young’s latest visit to Clemson came for last weekend’s win over Virginia. He was also on hand for the Tigers’ blowout win over NC State earlier in the season.
