Dre Quinn was overjoyed with how his first visit to Clemson turned out.
The 3-star DE (Greater Atlanta Christian School, Ga) got to spend a lot of time on campus, meeting coaches and soaking in the environment. While the game didn’t go Clemson’s way, Quinn was still overly impressed.
“I liked that the coaches were very engaged with me, like just talking to me the whole time,” Quinn told The Clemson Insider. “I felt like they were really interested in me, which I really like. I got to meet coach (Dabo) Swinney, that was nice. And I got to hear coach (Nick) Eason talk about player development and a lot of other stuff that goes on at Clemson. I really love the atmosphere. A lot of people. It was a vibrant atmosphere. Even though they lost, I really enjoyed everything.”
Two days later, that’s when Quinn really knew the visit had paid off. On Monday evening, the 6-foot-4, 220-pound high school junior got a call from defensive ends coach Chris Rumph with an official offer from Clemson.
“I was just ecstatic,” Quinn said. “Even though I was kind of expecting it, I was smiling from ear-to-ear. I really like Clemson.”
Rumph also told Quinn he’d like to get him back on campus and soon. As it stands currently, he is planning to be back for the regular-season finale against the rival Gamecocks.
While Mississippi State, Wake Forest, Georgia, Georgia Tech and Tennessee have all offered and gotten game day visits, Quinn said it was Clemson that was showing a lot of interest, along with Georgia, Georgia Tech and Wake.
Getting so much attention at this stage in the recruiting process is something Quinn is still processing.
“I’m just letting it sink in for me right now,” he said. “I still can’t really believe all of this.”
Despite that attention, Quinn has remained humble. He knows the journey is just beginning and he is ready to put in the work required to finish it.
“The best way to handle it is you just got to keep grinding,” Quinn said. “Got to use it as motivation. Keep going. You can’t just stop and get lackadaisical and just think you made it. Still got a lot to prove.”
Looking ahead to the 2026 class, defensive end appears to a position of need for the Tigers. That kind of situation could lead to early opportunities and that is extremely attractive to Quinn.
“Oh, for sure,” he said. “And I feel like coach Rumph and Clemson will develop me well. That’s a big, huge plus.”
