The 12-team playoff will lead to possibly the most chaos of the new era as the likes of Clemson and South Carolina are fighting for the last few spots in the new format.
While the Tigers lack control of their destiny in the ACC title race and have the bias against the conference hurting them, the Gamecocks might secure their spot come Saturday according to ESPN’s Dan Orlovsky.

South Carolina sits at fifth in the SEC standings, but the respect around the conference’s name could end in a whopping six teams earning a berth, including the Gamecocks. The path is less probable for Clemson but spoiler is a role the Tigers wouldn’t mind playing against its bitter rival.
