CLEMSON — Clemson suffered another big blow on the injury front.
The Clemson Insider confirmed on Wednesday with sources that offensive lineman Trent Howard injured his knee in practice. It’s too soon to say the severity of the injury, but we do know he will not play in Saturday’s game against No. 15 South Carolina.
Howard is expect to undergo tests to see how much damage he sustained in the injury.
The graduate senior started last week’s game against The Citadel and had to fill in and play 73 snaps in the Pitt game after starter Elyjah Thurmon went down with a season-ending foot injury on the first play of the game.
There was a good chance Howard was going to start against South Carolina, especially with left tackle Tristan Leigh and left guard Marcus Tate questionable for Saturday’s game.
Howard played in 10 games in 2023 and had 257 snaps. He also started three games for the Tigers last year.
