Swinney Provides Latest on Status of Wade Woodaz for Rivalry Game

Wade Woodaz has missed the last two games due to an injury sustained in practice.

With 12th-ranked Clemson set to host No. 15 South Carolina this weekend in the annual rivalry game, getting Woodaz back would be huge for the Tigers’ defense.

After practice on Wednesday, Dabo Swinney updated the status of his veteran linebacker.

“Wade has gotten better each day,” Swinney said. “He was still pretty sore on Monday. But with the type of injury he had, he’s gotten a little bit better each day. So I’d say the same thing. Minute by minute, hour by hour. He’s starting to get a little bit better. Hopefully, he will be ready to roll.”

Despite missing the last two contests, Woodaz still leads the team with 65 tackles. His 6.5 tackles for loss are good for fourth on the team. He also has two sacks and four pass breakups on the season.
