Key for Clemson Victory is Containing SMU’s Jennings

CLEMSON – The media gets selected players every week to recap the previous weekend and look forward to the upcoming matchup. Tonight the 17th-ranked Clemson Tigers face off against No. 8 SMU for the ACC Championship at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte.

–Linebacker Wade Woodaz talked about the team’s morale following last week’s loss to rival South Carolina. “I was really upset after the game… but I got home and turned on the Syracuse game and was like oh my gosh I literally jumped up and down. I am really thankful for the opportunity that we get to go and play again so shoutout to Syracuse.”

–Woodaz was asked about what transpired on his injury that held him out of two games. “It was after the Virginia Tech game on R.J. [Mickens] interception. I got banged up pretty bad. His knee hit my thigh and then I also got cleated and I got hit in my calf. So, my leg was really bad. It was swollen in my quad and then the lower part of my entire leg was purple and blue it was really gross.”

–When asked about SMU quarterback Kevin Jennings and his ability to leave the pocket and make plays Woodaz said, “I mean he is a great player, and he is made exactly what you said. He has extended a lot of plays and finds guys down the field, so you got to have a good plan together to contain him in the pocket for sure.”
