Trevor Lawrence had surgery this week and is expected to be good to go for next season.
The former Clemson star and Jacksonville Jaguars franchise quarterback underwent surgery on Tuesday to repair the AC joint sprain in his left shoulder.
According to Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson on Wednesday, Lawrence is on track to be back for spring workouts.
A source confirmed to The Clemson Insider that Lawrence had his surgery in Los Angeles and is expected to make a full recovery.
Lawrence suffered the shoulder injury in Jacksonville’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles on Nov. 3.
He later suffered a concussion when he took a vicious blow to the head in Jacksonville’s game against the Houston Texans on Dec. 1, and he had to clear the NFL’s concussion protocol before being cleared for the shoulder injury.
“He passed the protocol actually Sunday morning, this past week. So, he’s cleared on that, and then he actually had surgery yesterday,” Pederson said Wednesday. “It was successful, so he’s now on the road to recovery.”
The 25-year-old was placed on injured reserve Dec. 4, effectively ending his fourth NFL season.
Lawrence, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, completed 60.6 percent of his passes for 2,045 yards with 11 touchdown passes and seven interceptions in 10 games this season.
