A former Clemson star moved up the Jacksonville Jaguars’ franchise record books on Sunday.
In Week 17 of the NFL season, former Tiger running back Travis Etienne rushed for 49 yards on 15 carries during Jacksonville’s 20-13 home win over the Tennessee Titans.
When Etienne reached 25 rushing yards early in the second quarter, it brought his career rushing yards total to 2,636, and he moved past Leonard Fournette (2,631) into fourth place among running backs in franchise history in rushing yards.
Etienne also caught a pass for 26 yards in Sunday’s game. With that reception, he exceeded 1,000 career receiving yards (1,017) and passed Fournette (1,009) to rank fourth among running backs in franchise history in receiving yards.
Entering Sunday’s game, Etienne had rushed for 478 yards and two touchdowns on 122 carries across 13 games this season. He also had 35 catches for 199 yards entering Sunday’s game.
A first-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft (25th overall), Etienne posted back-to-back 1,000-yard rushing seasons in 2022 and 2023, totaling 2,133 rushing yards and 16 rushing touchdowns over that span. He added 792 receiving yards and a touchdown reception on 93 catches across the 2022-23 campaigns.
Etienne and the Jaguars (4-12) travel to play at Indianapolis next weekend to finish out the 2024 season.
