Davis recently decided to re-enter the NCAA transfer portal. He spent the 2024 season at Jacksonville State, following a year at UCF in 2023 and three seasons at Clemson from 2020-22.
A redshirt junior from Jacksonville, Fla., Davis has one year of eligibility left. The 6-foot-1, 192-pounder took his first official visit to West Virginia in late December.
At Jacksonville State this season, Davis played for Rich Rodriguez, who returned to WVU as its next head coach after spending three seasons as Jacksonville State’s head coach from 2022-24.
A former four-star and top-100 national prospect in the 2020 recruiting class, Davis originally signed with Clemson back in December 2019 and enrolled the following January. Prior to entering the portal in December 2022, he was credited with 32 tackles (1.5 for loss), four pass breakups and a fumble recovery over 27 career games (four starts) during his three-year career as a Tiger.
After playing in two games at UCF during his lone season there in 2023, Davis tallied 18 total tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss and four passes defended in 14 games at Jacksonville State in 2024.
