Good News for Louisville

This ACC program got some great news on Monday.

Louisville running back Isaac Brown – the 2024 ACC Rookie of the Year and Offensive Rookie of the Year — officially announced via Instagram that he will return for his sophomore season with the Cardinals in 2025.

Brown became the first Louisville player to be named the ACC Rookie of the Year and ACC Offensive Rookie of the Year. He ranks fifth nationally among freshmen in yards per rush (7.11), while ranking second nationally among freshmen in rushing yards (1,173). His 90.23 rushing yards per game rank third among FBS freshmen, and his 11 rushing touchdowns rank fourth.

The Homestead, Florida, native is the only Cardinal freshman to ever eclipse 1,000 rushing yards and 10 or more rushing touchdowns in a season. Brown was named the ACC Rookie of the Week three times this season and the ACC Running Back of the Week on Dec. 2, after rushing for 178 yards and two touchdowns in the Cardinals’ 41-14 win over Kentucky.

Brown ran for 151 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries in Louisville’s 33-21 victory over Clemson at Death Valley on Nov. 2.

Along with Brown, freshman running back Duke Watson and junior wide receiver Chris Bell are among the other players who announced they are returning to Louisville next year.

Louisville finished the 2024 season with a 9-4 overall record (5-3 ACC) and capped the season with a 35-34 win over Washington in the Sun Bowl.

The Cardinals are scheduled to host Clemson next season at a date to be announced.
