Clemson Assistants Check In on 4-Star Targets

The Clemson coaching staff has been making the rounds on the recruiting trail.

Matt Luke has made multiple stops over the past two days. Late Wednesday, the Clemson offensive line coach made a stop in to see 4-star target Bear McWhorter (Cass, GA). Late last year, McWhorter released a list of his Top 9 schools consisting of Clemson, Tennessee, Alabama, South Carolina, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Arkansas and Wisconsin.

The Tigers’ are set to host a number of recruiting targets on campus for the Elite Retreat on January 25, but no word yet on whether McWhorter plans to attend.

McWhorter picked up an offer from Clemson back in the summer after an unofficial visit in July. Since then, he has visited again for the Tigers’ blowout win over App State.

“Me and the family loved the visit,” McWhorter told The Clemson Insider after the visit. “Would definitely say the highlight was getting to be up on top of the hill when they came running down. That was awesome.”

ESPN ranks McWhorter No. 196 overall and No. 9 among all interior linemen. He also ranks No. 22 in the state of Georgia.

On Tuesday, Mickey Conn was in to see 4-star in-state S Kentavion Anderson (Dorman).

A member of the 2026 recruiting class, Anderson has visited multiple times in the past including November 30 for the Tigers’ rivalry matchup against South Carolina. He announced his offer about two weeks after that vist.

The 6-foot-2, 180-pound recruit ranks as high as No. 111 overall, No. 11 among all safeties and No. 2 in the state.
