The Clemson coaching staff continues to beat the streets checking in on 2026 recruits.
Co-defensive coordinator and safeties coach Mickey Conn made an interesting stop on Friday. Conn was in to see 5-star Southern Cal commit Xavier Griffin (Gainesville, GA). The 6-foot-3, 205-pound prospect is not only considered one of the top linebackers in the class but also one of the top players regardless of position.
Griffin picked up one of the Tigers’ opening offers back in June. Not only is he a former teammate of current DT Champ Thompson, but his grandmother also played basketball at Clemson.
“Getting an offer from Clemson is exciting but special for me,” Griffin told The Clemson Insider in a previous interview. “Because my granny (mom’s mom) played there on a basketball scholarship in the 1980s.”
Many are expecting Griffin to decommit at some point, so we’ll see if Clemson can get him back on campus. He visited Florida State for their Junior Day last weekend.
Head coach Dabo Swinney and offensive coordinator Garrett Riley stopped in Alabama to visit with 3-star QB commit Brock Bradley (Spain Park).
Bradley is one of two 2026 quarterbacks committed to the Tigers. Swinney and Riley were in to see the other one, 4-star Tait Reynolds, on Thursday.
Offensive line coach Matt Luke was in to see 4-star OL Drew Evers (Flower Mound, TX). The 6-foot-4, 305-pound recruit has more than 30 offers but has yet to be offered by Clemson. Alabama, Georgia, Texas, TCU, Tennessee, Florida State and Texas A&M are just a few to have already offered.
