Clemson commit Chase Thompson was a force to be reckoned with on Friday night.
The 6-foot-9 forward scored a career-high 41 points in helping lead his Alexandria team to a 101-88 win over Sauk Rapids-Rice.
Thompson got it done from all over the floor, hitting four three-pointers, nine shots from inside the arc, and then connecting on all 11 free throw attempts.
“He did it from all parts of the court,” Alexandria head coach Forrest Witt said. “He went to the rim, posted up, hit the mid-range shot, and shot it well from the 3-point line. I believe he’s the best player in the state. He puts a ton of pressure on defense. And on top of his scoring, he can pass the ball well, too.”
Thompson’s previous career-high was a 37-point outing against Fergus Falls in the Section 8-3A Tournament semifinals last March.
The 3-star prospect committed to the Tigers last November, with the 247 Composite ranking him No. 161 overall and No. 2 in the state of Minnesota.
