A highly touted prospect from Pennsylvania announced an offer from Clemson on Saturday.
Joey O’Brien, a four-star athlete in the class of 2026 from La Salle College High School (Wyndmoor, Pa.), reported the offer via social media.
“Beyond blessed to receive an offer from Clemson!!” O’Brien wrote.
The 6-foot-4, 185-pound recruit is ranked as the No. 1 prospect in the state of Pennsylvania by 247Sports, which touts him as the No. 50 overall prospect in the country regardless of position for the 2026 class.
O’Brien lists around two dozen total offers, with his impressive offer sheet including Michigan, Notre Dame, Penn State, Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, Indiana, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Missouri, Boston College, Duke, Florida State, Syracuse and Virginia Tech among others.
As a junior defensive back/wide receiver in 2024, O’Brien tallied 36 tackles, 13 pass breakups and interception on the defensive side of the ball, to go with 68 catches, 1,029 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns. He also passed for a score.
O’Brien traveled to Penn State during the 2024 season and received his offer from the Nittany Lions last spring, when current Clemson defensive coordinator Tom Allen was Penn State’s DC.
