An ESPN NFL Draft analyst recently released his updated list of the top 50 prospects for April’s draft, as well as his top five at each position.

The latest 2025 NFL Draft rankings from ESPN’s Jordan Reid (subscription required) include a couple of Clemson products.

Although Reid doesn’t have any Tigers among his top 50 overall prospects in this year’s draft class, he does see Clemson’s Jake Briningstool and Barrett Carter as two of the top players at their respective positions.

Reid currently ranks Briningstool at No. 3 among tight end/H-backs behind Bowling Green’’s Harold Fannin Jr. and Syracuse’s Oronde Gadsden II.

Meanwhile, Carter was ranked as the No. 5 linebacker behind Alabama’s Jihaad Campbell, UCLA’s Carson Schwesinger, South Carolina’s Demetrius Knight Jr. and Ole Miss’s Chris Paul Jr.

A two-time All-America selection and two-time All-ACC honoree, Carter was credited by Clemson’s coaching staff with 254 tackles (31.5 for loss), 12.5 sacks, 24 pass breakups, three interceptions, two forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries over 52 games (40 starts) from 2021-24. At the conclusion of his career, Carter’s 2,482 career snaps were the most by a Tiger linebacker on record. He was the only player in the nation during his four-year career to record at least 30 tackles for loss, at least 20 pass breakups and three or more interceptions.

Briningstool wrapped up his Clemson career (2021-24) with 127 receptions for 1,380 yards and 17 touchdowns over 48 career games (26 starts). The two-time All-ACC selection is Clemson’s all-time leader in career receptions by a tight end and finished second in school history in receiving touchdowns and receiving yards by a tight end, while he finished his career tied for the seventh-most receptions by a tight end in ACC history. His three career 100-yard receiving games were a Clemson tight end record.

The 2025 NFL Draft is scheduled to be held from April 24-26 inside and around iconic Lambeau Field and Titletown in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
