Elite-Level DE Set to Return to Clemson

One of the top defensive ends in the country is set to return to Clemson.

4-star Simote Katoanga (J Serra Catholic, CA) tells The Clemson Insider that he will attend the Elite Retreat scheduled for March 8.

This will mark Katoanga’s third visit to Clemson. He last visited for the Tigers’ win over Stanford on Homecoming back in October, when he picked up his offer from Clemson.

“(Coach Swinney) loves my size,” Katoanga told TCI on a previous interview. “He was just telling me that the offer means something just because they only recruit a limited amount of people. That’s one of the things I respect about them.”

The 6-foot-5, 250-pound edge rusher now has more than 30 offers in total, including Southern Cal, Oregon, Georgia, Notre Dame, Ohio State and Texas.

247Sports ranks Katoanga No. 59 overall and No. 6 among all defensive linemen.
