Carter Reunites with Former Clemson Teammates in Mock Draft

This week, a longtime draft analyst released his first mock of April’s NFL Draft.

NFL.com’s Chad Reuter unveiled a three-round 2025 NFL mock draft, and linebacker Barrett Carter is the lone Clemson product that Reuter projects to be picked among the draft’s first 101 selections.

The mock draft from Reuter, who has covered the draft since 2000, has Carter coming off the board in the third round and going to the Baltimore Ravens with the 96th overall pick.

Of course, if that selection came to fruition, it would reunite Carter with a couple of former Clemson defensive teammates in cornerback Nate Wiggins and linebacker Trenton Simpson.

Wiggins was taken by the Ravens in the first round (30th overall) of the 2024 NFL Draft, one year after Baltimore selected Simpson in the third round (86th overall) of the 2023 NFL Draft.

A two-time All-America selection and two-time All-ACC honoree, Carter was credited by Clemson’s coaching staff with 254 tackles (31.5 for loss), 12.5 sacks, 24 pass breakups, three interceptions, two forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries over 52 games (40 starts) from 2021-24.

At the conclusion of his career, Carter’s 2,482 career snaps were the most by a Tiger linebacker on record. He was the only player in the nation during his four-year career to record at least 30 tackles for loss, at least 20 pass breakups and three or more interceptions.

The 2025 NFL Draft is scheduled to be held from April 24-26 inside and around iconic Lambeau Field and Titletown in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
