One of Clemson’s defensive end targets has come off the board.
4-star Simote Katoanga (JSerra, San Juan Capistrano, CA) has committed to Southern Cal over Clemson, Notre Dame and North Carolina.
Katoanga was one of the players expected to visit for the Elite Retreat on March 8 but was always going to be a hard pull with him being on the other side of the country in California. His last visit to Clemson came for the Homecoming win over Stanford.
Katoanga has been one of the most highly sought-after defensive ends in the class. The 6-foot-5, 240-pound recruit has more than 30 offers, with 247Sports ranking him No. 59 overall and No. 6 among all defensive linemen.
