Despite knocking off Notre Dame 83-68 at home on Wednesday night, Clemson held steady in the NET Rankings.
The Tigers, who had dropped one spot before the matchup against the Fighting Irish, remained at No. 23 after the double-digit win in Littlejohn.
Clemson was jumped by Illinois, which lost by 43 points at Duke on Saturday. The Illini responded with an 81-61 win at home over Iowa on Tuesday night, a Quad 2 win.
After being dismantled by Duke, a team Clemson beat earlier this month, Illinois is now four games below .500 against Quad 1 competition. Once again, the NET proves the emphasis is on who you play, rather than actual wins and losses.
The Tigers’ victory over Notre Dame was only a Quad 3 win, but Clemson has now won 13 of its 15 ACC contests by double digits.
