One of Clemson’s offensive line targets has come off the board.
Four-star Bear McWhorter (Cass, GA) announced a commitment to Michigan on Friday during a ceremony at his high school. McWhorter chose the Wolverines over other finalists Alabama, Clemson, Florida and South Carolina.
McWhorter had previously told The Clemson Insider that he planned to attend the Elite Retreat on March 8, but obviously, that visit will no longer take place.
The 6-foot-4, 295-pound prospect picked up an offer from the Tigers last summer after an unofficial visit and then returned for the blowout win over App State in September.
“It’s the culture they’ve built,” McWhorter told The Clemson Insider recently. “It’s a winning program. They’re doing it the right way. They’re bringing in the right guys, and not just making it all about money, the transfer portal, or anything like that. Dabo is very consistent in what he does. He’s not going to switch for anybody. And that really stands out to me.”
Rivals ranks McWhorter as the 11th-best interior lineman in the 2026 class.
