Clemson OL Target Commits Elsewhere

One of Clemson’s top offensive line targets has committed elsewhere.

Avon Lake (Ohio) four-star offensive lineman Maxwell Riley announced his commitment to Ohio State on Monday night.

Riley’s recruitment was a battle that came down to his two finalists in the Buckeyes and Tigers.

Riley visited Clemson about half a dozen times during the recruiting process, with the latest coming for the Tigers’ blowout win over The Citadel in November.

He had been slated to visit Clemson on March 24, after being unable to attend the Elite Retreat this past weekend due to a conflict with his track schedule.

The 6-foot-5, 280-pounder is the nation’s No. 9 offensive tackle and No. 114 overall prospect in the 2026 recruiting class, per the 247Sports Composite rankings.
