Four-Star Lineman Says Clemson ‘Number One’ After Elite Retreat

Clemson’s Elite Retreat really moved the needle with offensive line target Carter Scruggs.

The four-star target (Loudon County, Leesburg, VA) made his return to campus for the annual event, his first visit since early in the 2024 season.

“It went really well,” Scruggs told The Clemson Insider. “I got a lot out of the visit.”

Scruggs has long been on the Tigers’ radar, picking up an offer last summer after working out at camp. He has visited campus on multiple occasions now and has already locked in plans to be on hand for Clemson’s big official visit weekend from May 30 to June 1.

Scruggs also plans to give officials to Penn State, Georgia and Michigan.

Although, after his most recent visit, Scruggs is extremely high on Dabo Swinney’s Tigers.

“Definitely putting Clemson number one for me right now.”

247Sports ranks Scruggs No. 158 overall and No. 10 among interior linemen.
