CLEMSON — In Friday’s win over Notre Dame, it was Clemson pitching that got the job done in a one-run win. On Saturday, it was the Tigers’ bats.
Clemson tallied 12 hits, including five extra base hits in an 11-7 victory for the 10th-ranked Tigers. Clemson tallied a double, two triples and two home runs in clinching the three-game series.
The Tigers have now won 17 straight games.
Cam Cannarella led the Tigers with a 3-for-4 day at the plate which included three RBIs. They also got a 2-for-5 performance from Tryston McCladdie, as he recorded a triple and a home run.
Dominic Listi was 2-for-4 with an RBI double, while Josh Paino and Jacob Jarrell were credit with two RBIs each. Paino’s came by way of a two-run home run in the bottom of the third inning.
The Tigers (19-1, 2-0 ACC) got RBI singles from Cannarella, Jarrell and Tristan Bissetta in the bottom of the first inning to take a 3-0 lead. They extended their lead to 7-0 in the second inning by batting around the order.
In the four-run seventh, they tallied two triples and a double, while recording five hits overall. McCladdie tripled down the rightfield line to get the inning off to a good start, then Listi doubled him home with shot to the same part of the field, while Jarren Purify tripled to centerfield to score Listi.

Clemson got another RBI single from Cannarella, this time to left field, and Jarrell drew a bases loaded walk for his second RBI of the afternoon.
The Irish (10-6, 0-5 ACC) scored four runs off two hits and a Clemson error in the top of the third inning. The big blows were Jared Zimbardo’s and Estevan Moreno’s one-out hits through the right side to bring home two runs.
Clemson answered with a three-run inning in the bottom frame. Cannarella earned his third RBI of the day with a single through the right side, while Priest smashed an offering to right field for a two-run home run and a 10-4 lead.

Notre Dame continued to battle, as Connor Hincks hit a base-clearing double down the right field line with two outs in the top of the fifth. The three-run double cut Clemson’s lead to 11-7.
Nathan Dvorsky (3-0) earned the win on the mound after coming on in relief in the fifth inning and pitching 1 1/3 innings of scoreless baseball. Reed Garris came on with two outs in the seventh inning for Joe Allen to earn his second save.
Sweep hats
Clemson will bring out its sweep hats for a sixth time this season on Sunday against the Irish. The Tigers will be going for their sixth sweep of the season overall against an opponent and their third weekend sweep in a row.
Besides Saturday’s win, the Tigers knocked off Notre Dame, 2-1, in Game 1 of the series on Friday.
