One of Clemson’s remaining offensive line targets has officially come off the board.
Four-star in-state lineman Zyon Guiles (Carvers Bay) announced a commitment to South Carolina on Friday during a ceremony at his high school. Guiles chose the Gamecocks over Clemson, Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia and Florida State.
The 6-foot-5, 285-pound recruit picked up an offer from the Tigers last June after working out at camp. He made a game day visit for the South Carolina game in November, then returned for the Elite Retreat earlier this month.
“They’re always a family-based coaching staff,” Guiles told The Clemson Insider recently. “They’re always showing the support and love that they have for me as a person and as an athlete. Always stressing to me that making the decision based on my goals is more important than what other schools can offer you in the moment. That is pretty important.”
Clemson already has four offensive linemen committed in the 2026 recruiting class. Four-star Braden Wilmes announced late last year, and four-stars Grant Wise, Chance Barclay, and Adam Guthrie all announced the weekend of the Elite Retreat.
The Tigers are still looking to add at least one more offensive lineman to the class, but Guiles was a recruit the staff never gained much momentum with.
The 247 Composite ranks Guiles No. 157 overall, No. 14 among all tackles in the class and No. 3 in the state of South Carolina.
