Another Clemson Player Hits Transfer Portal

Another Clemson men’s basketball player has hit the portal.

The Clemson Insider confirmed that guard Jake Heidbreder has entered the NCAA transfer portal.

After transferring from Air Force, Heidbreder redshirted the 2023-24 season and then transferred to Clemson for the 2024-25 campaign.

As a redshirt junior this past season, Heidbreder averaged 4.1 points, 1.2 rebounds and 0.8 assists per game. He appeared in 32 games and averaged 14.0 minutes per contest, while shooting 40.4 percent from the field and 37.3 percent from 3-point range.

Heidbreder spent two seasons at Air Force and was a 2023 All-Mountain West Third Team performer. The year before, he was named Mountain West Freshman of the Week in January 2022, and his 303 points in 2022 was a then-Air Force freshman record in the Mountain West era. His 194 points in MW play in 2022 is an Air Force freshman record.

A native of Floyds Knobs, Ind., Heidbreder becomes Clemson’s fifth transfer portal departure since the season came to an end last Thursday in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, joining forward Asa Thomasguard Del Jones, forward Chauncey Wiggins and forward/center Jackson Roberts.
