Clemson Basketball is in the midst of a roster overhaul.
With four key players having exhausted their eligibility and four more scholarship players entering the transfer portal, head coach Brad Brownell is expected to be extremely active in the transfer market.
Those efforts are now fully underway, as The Clemson Insider has confirmed that two portal targets are now scheduled to visit.
Nevada forward Nick Davidson, considered one of the top players currently in the portal, is set to visit this weekend. He will be accompanied by family members.
As a redshirt junior for the Wolfpack, the 6-foot-10 forward averaged 15.8 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.2 blocks per game. Davidson also shot 37% from beyond the 3-point line. He was a second-team All-Mountain West selection.
Kentucky, North Carolina and Louisville are all showing heavy interest as well, but sources tell TCI that Clemson is a legitimate contender.
Utah Valley forward Carter Welling will also visit this weekend. As a sophomore, the 6-foot-10 Welling started all 32 of his team’s games, averaging 13.1 points, 6.3 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 1.8 blocks per game. He was named All-WAC second-team.
Welling also excelled on the defensive end of the court, earning WAC Defensive Player of the Year honors.
The Tigers are in very good shape here and there is a very good chance Welling’s recruitment doesn’t stretch out much longer.
