One of Clemson’s top offensive line targets is set to return to campus later this spring.
Four-star Maxwell Riley (Avon Lake, OH) tells The Clemson Insider that he will visit on March 24. Riley is unable to attend the Elite Retreat this weekend due to a conflict with his track schedule.
The 6-foot-5, 280-pound recruit has already visited Clemson about half a dozen times, with the latest coming for the Tigers’ blowout win over The Citadel in November.
This is a battle that has come down to Ohio State and Clemson. The Buckeyes will also get a visit on April 2. Riley has long talked about having a decision before the end of the spring, meaning these two visits will be big, especially for Ohio State, which has seen a lot of turnover on its coaching staff, including losing offensive line coach Justin Frye to the NFL.
“I’ve been going through the recruiting process since January of my freshman year,” Riley recently told TCI. “I’ve had the opportunity to visit a lot of schools and stuff.”
