Clemson Drops In D1 Rankings After Sweep at NC State

It was a wild weekend in college baseball.

Five of the top six teams in last week’s D1 Baseball rankings lost series this weekend, including Clemson, which was swept at NC State. After the weekend result that saw the Tigers go 1-for-21 with runners in scoring position, Erik Bakich’s team fell one spot to No. 3 in the updated rankings.

The Wolfpack made the biggest move, rising 12 spots to No. 13. Texas remains No. 1 after winning a weekend series over Texas A&M.

Florida State, Clemson’s next opponent, dropped one spot to No. 5 after losing two out of three at Louisville. That sets up a Top 5 matchup this weekend in Tallahassee.
