In-State RB Set to Return to Clemson for Third Time This Year

One of the top young running backs in the state is set to return to Clemson next month.

2028 prospect Michael Martin II (Christ Church) will be on campus June 4 to work out at Dabo Swinney’s high school camp. Martin visited twice in March, attending the Underclass Experience, then returning a week later for the spring game. He also camped at Clemson last summer.

“It really just stood out,” Martin told The Clemson Insider recently. “From the coaches, the players… just overall. They were showing me a lot of love. They taught me a lot of things. Just overall, it was great.”

Martin also plans to attend a camp at Alabama.

Prep Red Zone ranks Martin the top 2028 back in the state of South Carolina. Wake Forest offered last month. Oklahoma, Miami, Duke, Georgia and Georgia Tech have already been showing interest. South Carolina, Georgia, Georgia Tech, UNLV and Duke have all gotten visits, and he has been to Oklahoma twice.

As a freshman, Martin started every game, leading his team with 676 rushing yards. He also led the team with eight rushing touchdowns and was second with 788 all-purpose yards.

The Tigers won’t start handing out offers to kids in the 2028 class until next summer.
